Need to give someone access to your website data? Here’s how to add a user to your Google Analytics account in 2026, in just a few quick steps.
Step by Step
Step 1: Log into your Google account.
Step 2: Click the Google apps icon (top right corner) and scroll down to find Google Analytics. Click it to open.
Step 3: In the left-hand menu, click Admin.
Step 4: Click Account Access Management.
Step 5: Click the plus (+) icon in the top right corner of the Account Access Management page.
Step 6: Enter the user’s email address.
Step 7: Select a user role (e.g., Editor, Viewer, Analyst, Administrator).
Step 8: Click Add in the top right corner.
Fixing the “Email Doesn’t Match a Google Account” Error
Sometimes you’ll get an error saying the email doesn’t match a Google account. This just means that the email you are trying to add isn’t linked to a Google account yet.
Fix: Asking the person for a different email — usually a Gmail address, but any Google-linked email works.
What Happens Next
Once added successfully, the new user gets an email confirming they now have access to your Google Analytics account. They’ll see the account listed when they log into their own Google Analytics account — access granted.
